Flying Underdogs is a competitive flyball team with dedicated members all striving to reach the same goals. We love our dogs and realize that we all have lives outside of flyball. However, as this is a team sport that takes a lot of training and dedication, a reasonable commitment to training is expected.
Currently we hold practices one day per week in Gresham, OR. Flying Underdogs participates in 6 – 8 tournaments per year.
To be accepted as a member of Flying Underdogs you should:
- be available and willing to practice at least 3 times/month as well as attend most local tournaments (currently a 3 hour radius from Portland, OR and about 4 tournaments/year).
-attend and successfully complete 2 classes within a 6 month period.
-attend 1 tournament without a dog.
-demonstrate good sportsmanship and a positive attitude.
Members pay a low membership fee to offset the cost of equipment, a share of the entry fee for each tournament they attend and contribute to practice space rental fees.
Members share in the work of setting up and taking down practice equipment.
